Fighting the Invisible Enemy

Do you know, do you realize that we have it within ourselves - call it the Spark of the Divine - to create Heaven on Earth? We have the knowledge, the wealth, and the tools to do just that. Why wait for Heaven, when we can do it ourselves? Call it what you will: God, Gaia, a Higher Power, or mere Random Chance - but we CAN do it. But we are incapable of making a better world for ourselves and future generations because Mankind, as a whole, lacks the intelligence, the compassion, and the generosity to do so. I think Covid-19 and Mother Nature are here to show us how mucked up we are.

“As a species we're fundamentally insane. Put more than two of us in a room, we pick sides and start dreaming up reasons to kill one another." -- Stephen King.

All that being said . . . there's nothing new and exciting to report here. I've now been in isolation longer than anyone else in the United States, I believe - since January, when reports first started coming out of China. I didn't buy the Democratic Hoax story. Besides, I'm a recluse and hate everybody. :)

Trying not to spend much time on social media. No energy or stomach for it these days. Plus, I'm trying to finish up a writing project, but am having a rough time of it. My brain struggles for words and the right mood, because too much news is not good for me. I stay informed: World Health Organization website, mostly, and the clear, concise, non-partisan, "both sides of the aisle" and no screaming at or insulting each other style of BBC News, The DW, and mostly PBS Newshour. No network news anymore. Definitely no Fox (except for The Simpsons ;) ), no Hannity, O'Reilly, Beck: they're just "shock-jock" entertainers, trolls pushing the anger buttons to increase their following, and their ratings: I have friends who work in the news industry, who have told me about things you wouldn't believe that go on behind the scenes, and how those type of shows, like reality shows, are all scripted. Public radio and TV - it's the only way to go. But I keep that to a minimum because the situation is serious and depressing enough, and constant listening of the news can and will negatively affect mental, physical, emotional and spiritual health - it can brainwash you, one way or another. But remember - I am here not to inform or convert: "For those who believe, no explanation is necessary. For those who do not believe, no explanation is possible." -- Franz Werfel.

I am here to amuse you, to share some laughs.

We're all in this together, and if everyone sticks and works together, if everyone does what we need to do, we can win. But we are a nation and a world divided by politics, religion, hate, racism, inequality in all its many forms, misinformation, lies, ignorance - you name it. We are not a nation of one ethnic group: we are a melting pot, we are Americans and we need to act like it. We need to pull together like are parents and grandparents pulled together during the Great Depression and World War II. We don't need to fight amongst ourselves - we should not be enemies. The enemies of the world are out there: Russia and North Korea, ISIS, the Taliban, and others. But the real enemy, the enemy OF US ALL, is Covid-19. The lesson to be learned from all this, should we survive, is that fear alone will destroy us. There is ONLY one race on this planet: the Human Race, and we certainly don't act like humans. We must care for and respect our planet and each other. Stop the wars, the hate, the violence. Remember my opening paragraphs, and think about about what I said, what I believe in my heart.

Stay safe, stay healthy, do your part in this war against the virus, and may you all be blessed.
